1 - Mukesh Ambani becomes Richest Man in Asia

According to the Forbes' real-time billionaire's list, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, became the richest person in Asia with a net worth of $42.1 billion after his wealth grew by $466 million owing to 1.22 per cent rise in the shares of Reliance Industries.

Mr. Ambani overtook Hui Ka Yan, the Chairman of China's Evergrande Group in the rankings. Globally, Ambani stood at the 14th spot on Forbes’ list. Wipro's Azim Premji was ranked the second richest Indian with a net worth of $19 billion.

2 - Michael Jackson named top-earning dead celebrity for the fifth time

Michael Jackson has been named the top earning dead celebrity for the fifth straight year with $75 million (all figures in US). The list was published by Forbes. His earnings were boosted by a new greatest hits album, a Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil show and a stake in the EMI music-publishing catalogue.

The second in the list is Golf legend Arnold Palmer with $40 million. Charles Schulz was third with $38 million. Elvis Presley comes in fourth with $35 million and Bob Marley ranks fifth with $23 million.

3 - Mary Kom selected as ambassador in Women's Youth World Championships

Veteran India boxer champion MC Mary Kom was announced as AIBA ambassador for 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Championships. Mary Kom owns five Elite World titles and has two Olympic appearances in her name.

The 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Championship is scheduled to happen at Nabin Chandra Bordoloi A.C Indoor Hall in Guwahati, northeastern India. Rhino was unveiled as mascot of the event. AIBA has been responsible for the rapid development of Women’s Boxing since the first elite World Championships back in 2001.

4 - Bharat Khandare became first Indian fighter to be signed for UFC

Ultimate Fighting Championship selected Bharat Khandare to fight in the UFC. With this, he became becomes the first ever Indian born fighter to fight in the UFC. UFC is famous ‘Mixed Martial Arts’ (MMA) organization. Khandare will fight against the most skilled MMA athletes in the world. His first fight under UFC happened in Shanghai, China.

Bharat Khandare is an Indian mixed martial fighter. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American mixed martial arts organization based in Las Vegas.

5 - Kevin Lilliana of Indonesia won Miss International 2017

Miss International 2017 was crowned to Indonesia's Kevin Lilliana by the Philippines' Kylie Verzosa. Kevin Lilliana is a model and winner of Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2017. The other runner-up winners were Chanelle de Lau’s Curacao and Venezuela’s Diana Croce.

The title of ‘Miss National Costume was given to Japan’s Natsuki Tsutsui. The title of Miss International Asia was honoured to Korea’s Nam Seung Woo. With this win, Kevin became the first Indonesian to win the crown of Miss International, and made Indonesia the fourth Asian nation in history to achieve the crown of Miss International.

6 - India's Manushi Chhillar crowned Miss World 2017

The 20 years old, India’s Manushi Chhillar won title of Miss World 2017, held at China. India won this title after a gap of 17 years. The first and second runners up were England’s Stephanie Hill and Mexico’s Andrea Meza. With this win, Manushri became the sixth Indian to win the coveted crown. India’s Reita Faria was the first Indian to be crowned as Miss World, in 1966.

Miss World 2017 was the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant, organized at Sanya, China.

7 - Justice Dalveer Bhandari re-elected at the International Court of Justice (ICJ)

Justice Dalveer Bhandari has been re-elected as a judge at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). He received 183 of the 193 votes in the General Assembly and secured all 15 votes in the Security Council.

Bhandari is the fourth Indian judge to be elected to the ICJ after B.N. Rau, Nagendra Singh and R.S. Pathak. India's Neeru Chadha was elected to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), in Hamburg in June 2017. Soumya Swaminathan was appointed deputy director general for programs at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva.

8 - Forbes named Beyonce as 2017's Highest-Paid Woman in Music

According to Forbes, American singer Beyoncé became the highest-paid woman in music in 2017, pulling in a whopping $105 million pretax. She edged out Britain’s Adele and pop star Taylor Swift.

Beyoncé’s hit album “Lemonade” and world tour made her the highest-paid woman in music in 2017. Adele made second place with an estimated $69 million while Swift, who topped the last year’s list with $170 million in estimated earnings, raked in $44 million this time. Canadian superstar Celine Dion took the No. 4 spot, earning some $42 million.

9 - Aung San Suu Kyi removed from honor of Freedom of Oxford award

Myanmar's de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi was removed of the Freedom of Oxford award over her "inaction" in handling the raging Rohingya refugee crisis and ignoring violence in the country that forced over 600,000 people to flee to Bangladesh.

Oxford City Council in London voted unanimously last night to remove the honour given to 72-year-old Suu Kyi in 1997. The Rohingya Muslims have fled to neighboring country following a military crackdown in Myanmar's Rakhine state, creating one of the world's most dire refugee crisis.

10 - Miss South Africa crowned Miss Universe 2017

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss Universe 2017, at a beauty pageant held in Las Vegas. The two other runner up were Miss Colombia Laura González and Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is trainer by profession who trains women on self-defense techniques. India’s Shraddha Shashidhar represented India at Miss Universe 2017.

Miss Universe 2017 was the 66th Miss Universe pageant, held at Las Vegas. 2017 Miss Universe Top 10 were Miss Venezuela, Miss USA, Miss Philippines, Miss Canada, Miss South Africa, Miss Spain, Miss Brazil, Miss Colombia, Miss Thailand and Miss Jamaica.
