Write the place value of 2 in the following decimal numbers:
$(i)$. 2.56
$(ii)$. 21.37
$(iii)$. 10.25
$(iv)$. 9.42
$(v)$. 63.352.
To do:
We have to write the place value of 2 in the given decimal numbers.
Solution:
(i) $\underline{2}.56$
$2$ is at ones place.
Hence place value of $2$ is $2\times1=2$
(ii) $\underline{2}1.37$
$2$ is at tens place.
Hence place value of $2$ is $2\times10=20$
(iii) $10.\underline{2}5$
$2$ is at tenths place.
Hence place value of $2$ is $2\times\frac{1}{10}=0.2$
(iv) $9.4\underline{2}$
$2$ is at the hundredths place.
Hence place value of $2$ is $2\times\frac{1}{100}=0.02$
(v) $63.35\underline{2}$
$2$ is at thousandths place.
Hence place value of $2$ is $2\times\frac{1}{1000}=0.002$
