What is the full form of AIUDF ?
Introduction
AIUDF- All India United Democratic Front is one of the influential regional parties of Assam. Since its foundation the party has created a large support base and won many elections. Due to these reasons the party has emerged as one of the largest opposition parties of Assam for the BJP. On the basis of its beliefs in democratic values the party has played a great role in supporting and uplifting the minorities of Assam. In this article we will discuss the party, its emergence and role in Assam.
AIUDF
One of Assam's major regional political parties is the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF). Before, it was known as the Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF). The party is one of the major opposition parties in Assam and it represents the voice of millions of Bengali Muslims from Lower Assam and the Barak Valley. The party's main office is in Guwahati. The party's electoral emblem is a lock and key, and the party’s flag is made up of three horizontal stripes of colour with the sign in the middle.
These colours are green on top, white in the middle, and black on the bottom. Green denotes peace and growth, while white represents deliverance from oppression and salvation. Black denotes deprivation and oppression.

History of AIUDF
On October 3, 2005, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal launched the Assam United Democratic Front political party (AUDF). On February 2, 2009, it was reintroduced but this time with the name AIUDF and was recognised as a national party at a news conference held in New Delhi. This was conducted under the leadership of Badruddin Ajmal. The party's first president was Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, and its first General Secretary was Hafiz Rashid Chowdhury. The AIUDF has been actively involved in Assam's electoral politics.
It gained one seat in the 2009 parliamentary elections, while it gained 18 seats in the 2011 Assam Legislative Assembly elections. It was quite successful in the 2014 parliamentary elections, winning 3 seats. The AIUDF performed very poorly in the 2016 Assam Legislative Assembly elections by securing only 13 seats. Beside this, the party's president also lost his legislative seat in the South Salmara District.
Notable Personalities
M. Badruddin Ajmal hails from the state of Assam. He is known as a businessman, political leader, Islamic scholar and also for his philanthropy . He is Jamiat Ulama-e-state Hind's president for Assam. In 2005, he founded the AIUDF, or All India United Democratic Front. Moreover, he serves as the leader of the Assam State Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. He has represented Dhubri as an MP three times. He has frequently been named as one of "The 500 Most Important Muslims" worldwide. He is also the Haji Abdul Majid Memorial (HAMM) Public Trust, Hojai's managing trustee. The charitable hospital Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital and Research Center in Hojai, Assam, is the reason for the popularity of this trust. Beside this, he also built the Badarpur Hospital at Malua, which is close to Badarpur in Karimganj.
Current Political Role
The AIUDF has been successful in bringing Assam's minorities together and plays a significant role in the state's politics. The AIUDF generally emphasised the issues facing Muslim peasants in the Char areas of Assam, in addition to the plight of Muslim minorities. Prior to the formation of the AIUDF, the Congress party in particular considered religious minorities like a "vote bank." Yet when the AIUDF entered the political arena, a new vote-sharing articulation emerged. For instance, the party won 18 seats in the 2011 Assam Assembly Elections, which were formerly dominated by the Congress party.
