Write three difference between the two principal vascular tissues found in the plant.
Two principal vascular tissues found in plants are known as Xylem & Phloem.
The three difference between these two principal vascular tissues are:
Xylem | Phloem |
1. Consists mainly of dead cells. | 1. Consists mainly of living cells. |
2. Transport water and minerals absorbed by the roots to the other parts of the plant. | 2. Conducts food manufactured in the leaves to the other parts of the plant. |
3. Conduction is unidirectional means only upwards from the roots. | 3. Conduction is bidirectional means both upwards and downwards from the leaves. |
