Write the molecular formula of :
(i) an alkane ; (ii) an alkene ; (iii) an alkyne, each having 20 carbon atoms.
(i) Alkanes have the general formula CnH2n+2. Hence for 20 carbon atoms formula will be C20H42.
(ii) Alkenes have the general formula CnH2n. Hence for 20 carbon atoms formula will be C20H40.
(iii) Alkynes have the general formula CnH2n−2. Hence for 20 carbon atoms formula will be C20H38..
