Write a brief note on the various components of electric circuits and also their uses in our daily life?

Various  components of electric circuits and their uses are as follows:

1. Cell - It is a device used to power electrical circuits. It has two terminals- positive and negative.

In daily life, it is used in various types of equipment, such as watch, torch, remote, mobile, etc.

2. Switch - It is a device that can break an electrical circuit by diverting the current from one conductor to another conductor or an insulator. This set of contacts are termed as open and closed. Open-circuit implies that the contacts are separated and the circuit is broken, hence no current is flowing. Whereas closed-circuit implies that the contacts are touching, hence the circuit is complete and the current is flowing.

In daily life, generally, it is used in our house for controlling the fans, bulbs, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.

3. Light Bulb - It is a device that produces light from electricity. It turns the electricity into light by sending current through a thin wire called the filament. The filament is usually made of tungsten because light is emitted due to its high resistance.

In daily life, it is used to light, houses, offices, streets, and apart from lighting, the light bulbs are used in electronic items as an indicator, traffic signals, indicator lights in cars, etc.

4. Connecting Wires - It is a flexible strand of metal, usually cylindrical in shape, is used for establishing electrical conductivity between two devices of an electrical circuit. The wires are covered by an insulated coating of different colours, so that we will be able to distinguish between neutral, ground, and live wire.

In daily life, it is used in every place where there are any electrical appliances.
