Why the flame of burning LPG gas is blue in colour, and the flame of a burning candle is orange and yellow?
On complete combustion of gas, we get a blue colour flame (natural gas blue flame) and burns at a temperature of around 1,960°C.
The orange colour flame indicates incomplete combustion. The candle is made up of wax which does not completely burn whereas LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas ) gives complete combustion. Hence, a candle produces a yellow flame whereas burning of LPG produces blue flames.
