Why sowing seeds with seed drill is better than broadcasting?

A seed drill is a machine used for placing the seeds in a continuous stream in furrows at uniform places and at a controlled depth. It has arrangements for covering the seeds with soil after sowing them to ensure that the seeds are safe from birds.

Also, this method is efficient and takes less time.
Broadcast seeding is a method of seeding that involves scattering seed, by hand or mechanically, over a relatively large area.

It has certain disadvantages such as-
1. Slow rate of germination
2. More water requirements.
3. Seeds can be blown away by the wind, eaten by birds, and washed away by erosion.
Hence, seed drill is advantageous over broadcast seeding.
