Why is Papaya plant is an incomplete plant?


A flower that possesses either carpels or stamens, that is either female reproductive parts or male reproductive parts but not both at the same time is known as a unisexual flower.  They are also known as incomplete flower.

A plant that possesses such flowers as their reproductive organs are known as an incomplete plant.

The male flowers of papaya lack gynoecium whorl while female flowers lack androecium whorl. Also, Papaya is a dioecious plant (that is male and female flowers occurs on two different plants).
