Why Cuscuta is yellow in colour?

Cuscuta is a parasitic plant. It does not have chlorophyll to conduct photosynthesis. Hence it does not have a green colour. Cuscuta has other pigments which give them a yellow colour. The pigment molecules absorb a specific wavelength of light, but the pigments in the Cuscuta plant cannot absorb the yellow light hence it is reflected back and appear yellow.
