Why clinical thermometer cannot be used to measure high temperature?

No, we cannot use a clinical thermometer to measure the temperature of boiling water.

This is because the range of a clinical thermometer is only between 35o Celsius to 42o Celsius. The temperature of boiling water will be nearly 100o Celsius.

In fact the clinical temperature is likely to break at such high temperature due to sudden expansion.
