Why are laboratory thermometers long in size
A clinical thermometer, which is used to measure the temperature of humans, measures temperatures ranging from 35 - 45 degrees Celsius. Whereas a laboratory thermometer measures temperatures ranging from 10 degrees C to 110 degrees C. Therefore, to measure such a high range of temperatures, the tube must be as long as possible, making the laboratory thermometer long in size.
