When are carbohydrates formed in plants ?
Carbohydrates are formed in plants during the process of photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis transform light energy into chemical energy. In photosynthesis light energy captured from sun transfers the electrons from water (H2O) to carbon dioxide (CO2), to produce carbohydrates. During this transfer gets CO2 reduced and water becomes oxidized. As a result oxygen is produced along with carbohydrates.
