What number, when decreased by 15% become 45?
Given :
The number becomes 45, when it decreases by 15%.
To find :
We have to find the number.
Solution :
Let the number be 'x'.
$x - 15% of x = 45$
$x - \frac{15}{100} x = 45$
$\frac{100x - 15x}{100} = 45$
$100x - 15x = 45 \times 100$
$85x = 4500$
$x = \frac{4500}{85}$
$x = 52.94$
The number is $52.94$
