What kind of motion does a key undergo while opening a lock?

 Solution:

Rotatory motion also referred to as rotational motion or circular motion, is a physical motion that happens when an object rotates or spins on an axis.

Similarly, the earth rotates at its own axis and also rotates around Sun in another orbit. The motion of blades in a table fan, hand blender's blades motion are all examples of rotational motion. Similarly, the motion of a key in a lock while opening or closing the lock is an example of rotatory motion as the key rotates about its own axis.
