What is the process of removing seeds from cotton called?


Cotton is obtained by the following steps: 

  • The cotton is handpicked from the plant Gossypium plant in the form of cotton balls.
  • By the process of Ginning, the seeds and cotton fibres are separated from Cotton balls. 
  • These cotton balls are then made into threads and converted into yarn by the process of Spinning.
  • from these yarns, the cotton fabric is made.

The process of removing seeds from cotton is called ginning.
