Solution:

Given data: $1,\ 4,\ 2,\ 6,\ 7,\ 8,\ 10$

On arranging the given data in ascending order.

$1,\ 2,\ 4,\  6,\ 7,\ 8,\ 10$

Number of terms in the data, $n=7( odd)$

For odd:

Median$=( \frac{n+1}{2})^{th}$ term

$=( \frac{7+1}{2})^{th}$ term

$=( \frac{8}{2})^{th}$ term

$=4^{th}$ term

$=6$

Thus, median of the given data$=6$
