What is the mass per cent of a solution?
Mass percentage is one way of representing the concentration of an element in a compound or a component in a mixture. It is calculated as the mass of a component divided by the total mass of the mixture/ compound, multiplied by 100% (w/w)%.
For a solution, the mass per cent is described as the grams of solute per grams of solution, multiplied by 100 to get the percentage.
It Can be given by the formula: $\displaystyle \ \frac{Grams\ of\ solute}{Grams\ of\ solution} \ \times \ 100\%$
The Mass per cent formula is used for finding out molar mass of each element in 1 mole of the compound in solution.
