What is the main role negatively charged electrons in electric circuit?

Negatively-charged electrons can be removed easily from the atoms of conductive materials. When small electric potential is applied, the electrons escape from the atoms and start flowing.

A closed circuit of conductive material provides a path for electrons to continuously flow. So, negatively charged electrons are responsible for flow of current in an electric circuit.
