What is the energy required to raise the temperature of 2 g of water by 10° C?
Given :
Mass of the water $= 2 g$
Change in Temperature $= 10° C$
To Find :
Energy required to raise the temperature of 2 g of water by 10° C.
Solution :
$\Delta t=\frac{Q}{m\times s}$
$\Delta t$ - Change in temperature
Q - Energy required
m - mass
s - specific heat capacity of water
Specific heat capacity of water $= 4.18 J$
$10 =\frac{Q}{2\ \times 4.18}$
$10\times 2 \times 4.18 = Q$
$83.6 = Q$
$Q = 83.6$
So, the energy required to raise the temperature of 2 g of water by 10°C is 83.6 Calories.
