What is Sonoatrial Node (Sn)?

The sinoatrial node (also known as the SA node or the sinus node) is a group of cells located in the atrial wall at the junction of superior caval vein and wall of the right atrium of the heart that works as the pacemaker of the heart.

These cells have the ability to spontaneously initiates the electrical impulse from the top chamber (the atrium) to stimulate contraction that travels through the heart via the electrical conduction system causing it to pump blood into the bottom chamber (the ventricle).

The structure of the sinoatrial node is like a banana.
