What is pure linen?
Pure linen is a textile made from the fibres of the flax (linseed) plant. Flax fibres vary in length from about 25 to 150 mm (1 to 6 in) and average 12–16 micrometres in diameter. There are basically two varieties of Flax fibres: shorter tow fibres used for coarser fabrics and longer line fibres used for finer fabrics. Both these fibres are used to make different types of fabrics.
