What is periscope ?

A periscope is an instrument used for observing an object which cannot be seen directly because of obstacles.

Periscope has an outer case with mirrors at each end at a 45° angle which is placed parallel to the surface.

This arrangement helps to observe over, around, or through an object.

Application: The periscope is used in the submarines during World War I, to see activity going on the water surface, in the trenches.  It is also used in some gun turrets and in armed vehicles like war tanks.
