What is Grafting?
Grafting is a horticultural technique in which tissues of plants are joined so as to continue their growth together. The upper part of one plant, also known as the scion, is joined to the lower part, called the rootstock, of another plant
It is done to fulfil a variety of purposes like to repair injured trees, to produce dwarf trees and shrubs, to strengthen plants' resistance to certain diseases, to retain varietal characteristics, to adapt varieties to adverse soil or climatic conditions, to ensure pollination, to produce more trees in a short period of time.
