What is cranium?


Cranium or the Neurocranium is a bony covering that encloses the brain.

Its function is to protect the brain from mechanical injury.

It is comprised of eight bones: (i) Occipital (ii) Two Temporal bones (iii) Two Parietal bones (iv) Sphenoid (v) Ethmoid (vi) Frontal bone.
