What is Bromine?


  • Free bromine is a reddish-brown liquid with an appreciable vapour pressure at room temperature.

  • Atomic number: 35

  • Uses: Bromine is used in many areas such as agricultural chemicals, dyestuffs, insecticides, pharmaceuticals and chemical intermediates. Bromine compounds can be used as flame retardants.
