What is NSC stand for? What role does it play in agriculture?


NSC stands for National Seeds Corporation. NSC is owned by the Government of India under administrative control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. In 1963 NSC was established to undertake production of foundation and certified seeds. Currently NSC undertakes production of certified seeds of nearly 600 varieties of 60 crops through its registered seed growers. All over the country there are about 8000 registered seed growers who undertake seed production programmes in different agro-climatic conditions.
