2. Biota (Flora, Fauna, and Microorganisms)- Affects the rate of humus formation.


3. Climate (Temperature, and Rainfall)- Influences the rate of weathering and the formation of humus.


4. Topography (Relief, Altitude, and slope)- Determines the accumulation of the soil.

5. Time- Determines the thickness of the soil profile.
