What does Waning Gibbous mean?


Waning Gibbous is the phase of the moon when a lit-up part of the moon starts shrinking from 99.9  % to 50.1 %. Waning Gibbous starts just after the full moon is lit up and it lasts until the third quarter of the moon. Shrinking of the moon is known as Waning and from oval to round shape refers to Gibbous.
