What do we do if median of data has two numbers?

Median:

The median of a set of numbers is the middle number in the set (after the numbers have been arranged from least to greatest) or, if there are even numbers in the given data, the median is the average of the middle two numbers.

For example,

Find the median of the set {2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 8, 12 ,9, 10, 6}

Arranging the numbers in ascending order,

{2,3,5,6,7,8,8,9,10,12}

Here, there are 10(even) numbers in the given data set.

Therefore,

Median=\frac{8+8}{2} =\frac{16}{2} =8
