What Changes Occur As The Plant Grows Up In The Epidermal Cell?


As the plants grow up, the epidermis undergoes certain changes.

Epidermal cell is the outer protective tissue which gets replaced by the cork cambium. Cork cambium is the lateral meristematic tissue which increases thickness of the plant.

The function of cork is to protect plant from desiccation, infection, and mechanical injury.
