What are the calories?

Calories are a unit of energy. The more calories a food has, the more energy it can provide to your body.

For example, if a fruit contains 50 calories, it indicates that your body can get 50 calories of energy by consuming that fruit.

The average daily requirement of calories by a human body depends on the age factor.

Suppose a person requires 2000 calories a day to remain active and fit. If he consumes 2400 calorie-containing diet, then all the excess calories will be stored in the form of body fat.
