What are the advantages of having two eyes instead of just one?
The advantages of having two eyes instead of just one are as follows:
1. Provides us a wider field of view, as with one eye, our field of view is only about 150º, but with two eyes, our field of view increases to 180º.
2. Provides us the perception of depth which means we can judge the distance of the object more accurately as they are few centimeters apart from each other, which allows us to see the same object from two slightly different angles. Thus, the brain combines these two slightly different images to build a 3-D picture of the object enabling us to judge the distance of the object more accurately.
