What are polygons and their types?
Polygons
A polygon is a plane or two-dimensional figure with straight lines as its sides.
Examples: triangles, rectangles, and pentagons, etc.
The simplest polygon is the polygon with three sides known as the triangle. A circle is not a polygon as it does not have straight sides and is made of a curved line. A regular polygon is a polygon whose all sides are equal in length.
Types of polygons
Three-sided polygon: Triangle
Four-sided polygon: Quadrilateral
Five-sided Polygon: Pentagon
Six-sided polygon: Hexagon
Seven-sided polygon: Heptagon
Eight-sided polygon: Octagon
Nine-sided polygon: Nonagon
Ten-sided polygon: Decagon and so on
