What are medians and centroid of a triangle

Median

A median is a line segment that connects the vertex and the midpoint of its opposite side. A median can be perpendicular or non-perpendicular depending on the type of triangle.

In the following triangle ABC, AD is the median which is connecting the vertex A and the midpoint of BC which is D.

The centroid of a triangle is the intersection of the three medians of the triangle. In the below triangle AD, BF and CE are medians and point O is the centroid of the circle.
