What are Flora and Fauna?
Flora and fauna are words originating from Latin.
Flora:
The term 'flora' in Latin means “Goddess of the Flower.” It represents a group of plant life found in a particular region. Flora can be used to represent the entire plant kingdom.
Fauna:
Fauna represents the animal life pertaining to a region. “Faunus” is the name of the goddess of fertility, or “Fauns” means “Forest spirits.“ Animal kingdom comprises of a variety of life forms than plants.
Hence the classification of fauna is much more complex than the floral division.
