Using the method of transposition, find the value of y in the following equation:$2y-98=100$
Given :
The given equation is $2y-98=100$
To find :
We have to find the value of y.
Solution :
Therefore,
$2y-98=100$
Transposing 98 to RHS,
$2y=100+98$ [ $-98$ when transposed to RHS becomes $+98$ ]
$2y=198$ $y=\frac{198}{2}$
$y=99$
The value of y is 99.
