The ratio of the income of the expenditure of a family is 7:6. Find the savings, if the income is ₹ 1400
Given :
The ratio of the income to the expenditure of a family $= 7: 6$.
Income $= Rs. 1400$
To do :
We have to find savings.
Solution :
Let the income of the family be 7x.
This implies,
Income $= Rs. 1400 = 7x$
$7x = Rs. 1400$
$x = Rs. \frac{1400}{7}$
$x = Rs. 200$
$Savings = Income - Expenditure$
$= Rs. 1400 - 6(200)$
$= Rs. (1400-1200)$
$= Rs. 200$
The savings of the family is Rs. 200.
