The ratio between teachers and students has been prescribed as 1:30. If a college has 4620 students, find how many teachers are required in that college for teaching.

Given :

The ratio between teachers and students has been prescribed as 1:30.

The number of students in the college = 4620.

To find :

We have to find the number of teachers required for teaching.

Solution :

Let the number of teachers required for teaching be x.

This implies,

1:30 = x:4620

$  \frac{1}{30} =\frac{x}{4620}$

$ x=\frac{4620\times 1}{30} $                       ( Cross multiplication)

$x=154$

Therefore,

The number of teachers required for teaching in that college is 154.
