The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 28 cm. The unequal side is 10 cm. Find the length of each equal side.
Given :
The perimeter of an isosceles triangle $=28 cm$.
The length of unequal side $= 10 cm$.
To find :
We have to find the length of each equal side.
Solution :
Let the length of each equal side be x.
The perimeter of the triangle is the sum of all sides of the triangle.
So, Perimeter$= x+x+10$
$28 = x+x+10$
$28 = 2x+10$
$2x = 28-10$
$2x =18$
$x = \frac{18}{2} = 9$
Therefore, the length of each equal side is 9 cm.
