The masses of two celestial bodies are $4.98 \times 10^{21}$ kg and $10^{19}$ kg. Find the ratio of their masses.
Given :
The masses of two celestial bodies are $4.98 \times 10^{21}$ kg and $10^{19}$ kg.
To do :
We have to find the ratio of their masses.
Solution :
The masses of two celestial bodies are $4.98 \times 10^{21}$ kg and $10^{19}$ kg.
The ratio of their masses $=4.98 \times 10^{21} kg : 10^{19} kg$
$= 4.98 \times 10^{19} \times 10^2 : 10^{19}$
$= 4.98 \times 10^2 : 1$
$= 498:1$
Therefore, the ratio of the masses of the celestial bodies is $498:1$.
