The mass of the body on earth is $60\ kg$, what is its weight on the earth and on moon.
Weight of the body on the earth:
we know Weight $W=mg$
While $W\rightarrow$ weight of the body
$m\rightarrow$mass of the body
$g\rightarrow$ acceleration due to gravity
On the earth, mass of the body $m=60\ kg$
$g=9.8\ ms^{-2}$ [on the earth]
$W=60\times9.8=588\ N$
Thus the weight of the body on the earth is $588\ N$.
Weight on the moon:
Mass of the body on the moon $m=60\ kg$
$g=1.62\ ms^{-2}$ [on the moon]
Therefore, weight of the body on the moon $W=60\times1.62=97.2\ N$
