The length of each side of a regular polygon is 1.3 cm. The perimeter of polygon is 10.4 cm How many sides does the polygon have?
Given:
Length of each side of polygon = 1.3 cm
Perimeter of polygon = 10.4 cm
To do: Find how many sides does the polygon have.
Solution:
Perimeter is nothing but the sum of all sides of polygon
Lets take the number of sides = n
Number of sides n = Sum of all sides of polygon $\div$ Length of each side of polygon
= $\frac{10.4}{1.3}$
= $\frac{104}{13}$ [multiply by 10 on both numerator and denominator]
n = 8
So, the number of sides of polygon = 8
