$(i)$. A to B

The graph given alongside shows the positions of a body at different times. Calculate the speed of the body as it moves from:

$(i)$. A to B

(i). In the given graph, distance covered from A to B $=3-0=3\ cm$

Time $=5-2=3\ s$

Therefore, speed from A to B $=\frac{distance}{time}$

$=\frac{3\ cm}{3\ s}$

$=1\ m/s$

(ii). Distance covered from B to C $=3-3=0$

TIme $=7\ s-5\ s=2\ s$

Therefore, the speed of the body as it moves from B to C

$=\frac{distance}{time}$

$=\frac{0}{2\ s}$

$=0$

(iii). Distance covered from C to D $=7\ cm-3\ cm=4\ cm$

Time $=9\ s-7\ s$

$=2\ s$

Therefore, speed of the body as it moves from C to D $=\frac{distance}{time}$

$=\frac{4\ cm}{2\ s}$

$=2\ cm/s$
