The area of a square field is $30\frac{1}{4}\ m^2$. Calculate the length of the side of the square.
Given:
The area of a square field is $30\frac{1}{4}\ m^2$.
To do:
We have to find the length of each side of the square.
Solution:
Area of the square field $=30 \frac{1}{4}$
$=\frac{30 \times 4+1}{4}$
$=\frac{120+1}{4}$
$=\frac{121}{4} \mathrm{~m}^{2}$
This implies,
Side of the square field $=\sqrt{\text { Area }}$
$=\sqrt{\frac{121}{4}}$
$=\frac{\sqrt{121}}{\sqrt{4}}$
$=\frac{11}{2}$
$=5.5\ m$
