The age of Ved (y) is 2 years more than 5 times the age of his son Vedant \( (x) \). Form the linear equation and draw the graph.
Given:
The age of Ved (y) is 2 years more than 5 times the age of his son Vedant \( (x) \)
To do:
We have to form the linear equation and draw its graph.
Solution:
The given statement can be written as $y=5x+2$.
To represent the above equation graphically we need at least two solutions for the given equation.
$y=5x+2$
If $x=0$ then $y=5(0)+2=2$
If $x=-1$ then $y=5(-1)+2=-5+2=-3$
$x$ | $0$ | $-1$ |
$y$ | $2$ | $-3$ |
The above situation can be plotted graphically as below:
