Given:
Sonam purchases a geyser for rupees 4704 including GST.
The original price of the geyser is rupees 4200.
To do:
We have to find the rate of GST.
Solution:
Let the rate of GST be $x$.
This implies,
$4704=4200+\frac{x}{100}\times 4200$
$4704-4200=42x$
$504=42x$
$x=\frac{504}{42}$
$x=12 \%$
The rate of GST is $12 \%$.
