Some leaves are not green in colour, but how are they autotrophs?
Leaves are green because of the presence of the pigment called Chlorophyll.
It absorbs light (red and blue) for energy; the unabsorbed green bounces away and is detected by our eyes and thus appearing green.
But there are so many plants that may contain multiple pigments, with different colors.
While other-colored plants also have chlorophyll, having other pigments in greater quantities than chlorophyll, the other-colored plants appear red, yellow, or purple and they can do photosynthesis.
