Solve the following questions on Rational Numbers.
"

(i) -2/3 x 3/5 + 5/2 -3/5 x 1/6  using distributive property of multiplication over addition

= 3/5 (-2/3 -1/6) + 5/2 = 3/5 (-4/6 -1/6) + 5/2 = 3/5 x -5/6 + 5/2 = -1/2 + 5/2 = (-1+5)/2

= 2 Ans

(ii) 2/5 x -3/7 - 1/6 x 3/2 +1/14 x 2/5

using the distributive property of multiplication over addition

2/5(-3/7 + 1/14) - 1/4 = 2/5 (-6/14 + 1/14)   - 1/4                                [as 1/6 x 3/2 = 1/4]

= 2/5(-5/14) - 1/4

= -1/7 -1/4 = -11/28 Ans
