We have to simplify the given expression.

Solution :

$-2(-4)+(-2)=-2 \times -4 +(-2)$

$=(-\times-)(2\times4) +\times- 2$

$=8-2$            [$-\times-=+, +\times-=-$]

$=6$

Therefore, $-2(-4)+(-2)=6$.
